Voting in federal, state, and local elections is one tactic in our movement’s toolbox to transform Texas – and our world – into a place where every person has the things they need in order to thrive. 

When we vote, we are planting the seeds of a tomorrow where every Texan can access the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare and support services they’ll need throughout their lives.

It did not take one election to get us here, so it won’t take one election to undo the harm.

Here is Avow’s long-haul approach to our electoral work:

• Educate. Through political education, we teach our people which elected offices control our material conditions–from rural healthcare access to the availability of sex-ed in schools to the rising cost of living.

• Mobilize. With relationships as the centerpiece of our organizing strategy, we’re invested in turning our neighbors into registered, informed voters and increasing access to the polls for marginalized communities.

• Endorsements. Avow is committed to supporting candidates who are committed to changing both our conversations and state policy on abortion access – bold leaders who understand that Reproductive Justice is everyone’s issue.
