Take Action for Abortion Access

The leaked Supreme Court opinion has thrown us all into crisis. If the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, Texas’s trigger law — which would ban and criminalize abortion — would go into place 30 days after the opinion is formally released.

As of today, abortion is still legal, but soon, abortion at any stage of pregnancy could be completely criminalized in the state of Texas.

Here are three actions you can take today to fight back:

1. Donate to local Texas abortion funds. Countless Texans are already being forced to travel out of state, delay care, or forgo care altogether because of SB 8.

2. Donate to elect abortion rights champions. This is an absolute crisis and an assault on our rights, our liberty, and our humanity. The only way to protect abortion access for good is to win at the state level.

3. Raise your voice and combat abortion stigma. Everyone in Texas and beyond knows and loves someone who has had an abortion. Abortion makes our families, our communities, and our lives better.

At Avow, we believe in a Texas where every person is trusted to make decisions for themselves and free to pursue the life they want. Abortion is an undeniable piece of that puzzle. We endorse and support Texas candidates who commit to fight for unrestricted abortion care for all Texans.

By making a monthly gift, you invest in the long-term, Texas-led advocacy that is necessary to undo decades of abortion restrictions. Access to abortion is a good thing, and we will never stop fighting for it.

FIGHT THE TEXAS ABORTION BAN

SB 8 bans abortion as early as 6 weeks and puts a $10,000 bounty on anyone who helps someone get abortion care. Now more than ever, we need unapologetic abortion rights advocates to lay the groundwork to defeat anti-abortion lawmakers.

Chip in to organize Texans to restore abortion access in our state. The organizing we do today determines the gains we make in 2022.
